Anita S. (Gilman) Grise, beloved wife of Darrell S. Grise, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2020, at the age of 71. Anita was born on April 7, 1949, to the late Melvin A. Gilman and Ruth (Goldstein) Gilman. After growing up in Lexington, Massachusetts, in 1971, Anita graduated from Boston University with a degree in philosophy and thereafter advanced professionally to become an optician. In working in the optical field, she met her husband Darrell. Anita and Darrell were wed on April 23, 2001, and were happily married for 19 years. Anita was spirited and adventurous. Together with Darrell, she traveled to all corners of the globe, experiencing different cultures and communities and taking their stories back home to share with family and friends. Anita is the sister of Linda (Barry) Weinstein; aunt of Jessica and the late Carl Weinstein; daughter-in-law to Judy I. Grise and the late Leo A. Grise; sister-in-law to Jacqueline I. (Grise) Lester and Thomas E. Lester; aunt of Zoe and Graycen Lester. Funeral services for Anita will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 7, 2020, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rabbi Joel Fleekop officiating. Burial will follow services at Barrancas National Cemetery, aboard Pensacola Naval Air Station with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
