Annie Jo Smith, 81, of Gulf Breeze, passed away Tuesday March 10, 2015. Mrs. Smith was born October 25, 1933 in Heiberger, AL and was one of two children born to the late Earlie and Ruby Sherbett. She married Robert Smith in 1955. They resided in Alabama, primarily Demopolis, for many years before moving to Gulf Breeze in 2003. Mrs. Smith was a member of St Paul United Methodist Church, Gulf Breeze. Mrs. Smith was deeply loved by her family and a blessing to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and sister, Nina Finn. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert Everett Smith, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; a son, Kenneth Steven Smith, of Adger, Alabama; a daughter, Brenda King, of Gulf Breeze, Florida; and three grandchildren, Nathaniel Smith, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Kendrianna Smith, of Augusta, Georgia, and Kali King, of Pensacola, Florida. The family will receive friends at 12 Noon, with funeral services following at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, March 14, 2015, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, Gulf Breeze, Florida, with Rev. Lance Whorton, officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Flowers, Mike King, Clyde Crews, Lonnie Cahoon, Steve Fuller, and Nathaniel Smith. The family would like to thank the staff of Emerald Coast Hospice, the staff at Ciano Cancer Center and the Kugelman Cancer Center and Dr. DeJoubner and staff at Baptist Hospital Oncology for the care they provided. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to St. Paul United Methodist Church, 4901 Gulf Breeze Pkwy, Gulf Breeze, FL 32563. Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre, has been entrusted with arrangements.
