Annie Walther Obituary

Annie Louise Reed Walther, age 103, a native of Milton, Florida, passed peacefully in her sleep and went to her heavenly home on Sunday, April 10, 2016. Mrs. Walther attended Pace Assembly of God Church for many years, but for the past two years has attended New Harvest Fellowship Assembly of God. Her husband of 60 1/2 years, George Washington Walther, her daughter, Marilyn Rodier Rodriquez, her son, George Clinton Walther, her parents, Frank and Annie (Ward) Reed and her brother, Ellis Reed, preceded her to that heavenly home. She is survived by three daughters, Gwen Howington and Shirley Wilson of Milton, and Ann Fissel (Mike Fissel) of Jacksonville, Florida; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 31 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild; a special granddaughter, Tina Rodier, who cared for her for many years; and a special cousin, Elizabeth (Lizzie Bee) Smith, whom she thought of as the “sister she never had.” In her younger days, Mrs. Walther worked at the old Santa Rosa Hospital on Stewart Street making her delicious homemade biscuits. She always volunteered at the polls on election days. She was involved with the Santa Rosa Homemakers Club for over 40 years and always participated in their annual Holiday Fair. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2016, at First Assembly of God Church in Milton, with Rev. Ron Carnley officiating assisted by Rev. Alan Isaacson. Burial will be at Crain Cemetery with her grandsons and great-grandsons serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the services. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements. We are mourning the loss of our loved one, but the loved ones behind the veil are rejoicing at her homecoming.
