Barbara J. “Nita” Cardenas, 91, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away, Tuesday, August 27, 2019. Nita was a native of Pensacola and was the second of four children born to the late Loyd T. and Frances A. Anderson. She was a graduate of Pensacola High School. She was a retired BellSouth employee. Nita was preceded in death by her mother and father, Loyd T. and Frances A. Anderson; and her husband, Ernest E. Cardenas. Nita is survived by her son, David W. Cardenas; and her sisters, Rita Jernigan and Pat Dowdy. Funeral Services for Nita Cardenas will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, August 30, 2019, at Welcome Assembly of God, Milton, Florida, with Keith Smith officiating. Viewing for the family will be held from 11:00 a.m. - 12:00p.m.; and friends from 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lewis Funeral Home, Navarre Chapel has been entrusted with arrangements.
