Bernard F. Hermley, 76, of Jay/Milton, Florida, passed away, Monday, May 7, 2018.
Mr. Hermley, was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, joined the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a graduate of The University of Maryland with a degree in Chemical Engineering.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard F. Hermley, Sr. and Irma M. Hermley; son, Robert B. Hermley, Private First Class, Army; and a nephew, Lance Weaver.
Bernie is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judith; a daughter, Carolyn (Jerry) Couey; two grandchildren, Megan and Jeremy Couey; one sister; two nieces; one nephew; and a host of other relatives.
Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018, at Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Milton, Florida. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 15, 2018, Barrancas National Cemetery. Please meet the family at 1:30 p.m., at the Navy Point Public Boat Ramp (Sunset Avenue and SE Syrcle Drive, Pensacola). We will depart the park promptly at 1:50 p.m., to travel in procession to the base.
Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the services, at the church.
The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Pruitthealth, Dr. John H Axley’s office, and Emerald Coast Hospice for the love and care given to Bernie during his time of illness.
