Betty Griffin Obituary

Betty Jean (Wilder) Griffin, 85, of Milton, Florida, passed away Tuesday, May 2, 2017, at 4:45 p.m. Betty was born the eldest of five children, in Flint, Michigan, on March 27, 1932. She graduated from Eddison High School. She was a Jehovah Witness. Betty worked as a glass blower for ten years, making test tubes for hospitals. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dortha Ruth Wilder; all of her siblings; and her husband, Edwin V. Griffin, Jr. Betty is survived by two sons, Edwin V. Griffin III and Roland A. Griffin, Sr.; two daughters-in-law, Linda Griffin and Deborah Griffin; two grandsons; three granddaughters; two great-granddaughters; and one great-grandson. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Monday, May 8, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Visitation will be held 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., prior to the service. The Griffin family wishes to thank her personal physician, Doctor Mark Elder; and all the nurses and caregivers at Pruitt Health Care of Milton, Florida, for the wonderful care given to our mother. We also thank Bruce Parks, of Blue Angel Taxi Service, who so carefully took her to doctor and hospital appointments, and back, with tender loving care. Thank you Lewis Funeral Home staff for the compassionate care they have given her and our family in her final transition of life.
