Betty Jo Holderfield, age 81 of Milton died early Friday morning July 19, 2013 at her daughter's home. She was born in Town Creek, AL January 14, 1932 to Joseph Garland and Nora Sue Gray. She was married to the late Elbert A. Holderfield, Jr. for 58 years until his death in 2006. She is also preceded in death by her son, David A. Holderfield; and grandson, Joseph "Joey " Garland Holderfield. She was a faithful member of First Baptist church in Milton. She was employed at Vanity Fair, then Cyanamid and ending as a sales associate at Hall's Hardware. Mrs. Holderfield is survived by two daughters, Glenda Griffis of Pace, FL and Suzanne (John Ed) Carter of Ridgeland, MS; two sisters, Martha (Jack) Love, Muscle Shoals, AL and Sue Terry of Tuscumbia, AL; five grandchildren, Kim Stevens, Lisa (Daniel) Bourgeois, Angie Griffis, and David Holderfield, Jr.; six great grandchildren, Amanda Stevens, Tyler Griffis, Madison Griffis, Bradley Bourgeois, Raegan Bourgeois and Autumn Holderfield; and many nieces and nephews. We want to thank Ms. Lorie Weekley, MT RA and Ms. Trish Exline, MT RA for their excellent care and kindness of Betty while at the Forysth House. Also, a very special thank you to Milton Covenant Hospice for their kind care in the last months of Betty's life. Funeral services will be a 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 22, 2013 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel with Dr. David Spencer, officiating. Visitation will begin 10:00 a.m. prior to services. Burial to follow in Memory Park Cemetery. Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel entrusted with arrangements. Pallbearers will include: Jimmy Wiedemeyer, Mark , Matt and Mike Holderfield, Tommy Terry and Roger Henry.
