Carol Ann Gable of Milton, FL passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013. Mrs. Gabel was born in Buffalo, NY and moved to Milton, FL in November of 1973. Survivors include her faithful husband of 45 years Bobby L. Gable of Milton, FL; son, Charles S. Gable of Milton, FL; daughter, Elizabeth C. Richardson of Port Charlotte, FL; brothers, James Haynes of Fairfax, VA and Thomas Haynes of Augusta, GA; along with numerous nieces, nephew, and cousins. She was a faithful wife, loving mother, and friend to all that knew her. She was the first female firefighter, first female firefighter trained to drive and operate a fire truck, first female fire line officer, and a former board member for East Milton Fire Protection District & Service. She was a volunteer nurse for many years at the MAC Clinic in Milton, FL. Over the last 25 years she made jam and jelly for the St. Rose of Lima International Fall Festival. Visitation will be from 5-6 p.m. and rosary from 6-6:30 p.m. Sunday, March 31, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral home Milton Chapel;. A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2013 at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Milton, FL. Pallbearers will be the Knights of Columbus Council 7027.
