Catherine Van Noske

Catherine “Cathy” Van Noske, age 54, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in her home in Milton, FL. Cathy was born in El Paso, Texas on February 6, 1960 to Lonnie and Clara Owen (now deceased). She graduated high school from Choctawhatchee High School and continued her education at Okaloosa Walton and the University of West Florida. On October 9, 1982, she was married to Frank Van Noske, who passed away July 2013. Cathy was employed with the Santa Rosa School board for many years as a Substitute Teacher. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Milton, Fl; participating throughout the years in such activities as the adult choir, the handbell choir, assisting in the nursery, teaching children’s Sunday school and children’s church, teaching/assisting at vacation bible school, and many more. Cathy was a caring woman who received the greatest joy from helping others. Cathy is survived by her daughter, Hope Elizabeth Van Noske, son Christopher Ryan Van Noske and grandson, Payton Lee Rusk. She also has a step-daughter, Jessica Boyd and her husband Brad Boyd and their children, Navaeh and Dylan Boyd. Cathy is also survived by her brothers, Lonnie E. Owen Jr (his wife, Irene, their three children, Lonnie III, Michael, Tiphani, and four great nieces) and Kenneth Owen (his wife Fran and their children Kayla and Joshua). Funeral services for Cathy Van Noske will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home. There will be a visitation prior to the service from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:15 pm. Family would like to thank the staff at Covenant Hospice for the wonderful care given and the church family at First Baptist Church for continuous support and prayers. Donations made be given in memory of Cathy to either the First Baptist Church Sight and Sound Fund, to the American Cancer Society for Pancreatic Cancer Research, or to the family to assist with funeral costs.
