Cecil Carl Morgan Jr, 73, of Pace, Florida, passed away, Thursday, February 6, 2020. Cecil was born in Oxford, Mississippi, on March 13, 1946. He was the oldest of four children. He graduated from Louisiana High School, Louisiana, MO and then later from the Community College of the Air Force. He was a U.S. Air Force Vietnam Veteran and retired in 1990 as a MSgt with 26 years of service from Eaker AFB in Blytheville, AR. He then went to work for Sherwin Williams and later for Farmers Bank, both in Blytheville. Cecil enjoyed woodworking while earning many awards for the furniture he made, and working in the yard where his real goal was to socialize with neighborhood friends. In his later years, he and his wife traded the Arkansas snow for the Florida beaches bringing along their best canine friend, Bella. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jean Hobgood (Russell); and his parents, Cecil Carl Morgan Sr. and Alice (Buswell) Morgan. Cecil is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gloria Ann Morgan of Pace, Florida; four daughters, Wanda McFall (Dave) of Pinellas Park, Florida, Lori Ann Moore of Ridgeland, Mississippi, Lisa Morgan; Asher Morgan (Kristie) of Springdale, Arkansas; three step-daughters, Marjorie Utley (Mack Dale) of Blytheville, Arkansas; Jody Lyles of Bay Minette, Alabama; and Kimberly Casey (Jim) of Pace, Florida; two step-sons, Donald S. Hill II (Leandra) of Holiday, Florida, and Christopher Welch (Gidget) of Summerdale, Alabama; seven grandchildren; ten step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; nine step-great grandchildren; two brothers, Ralph Morgan (Ann) of West Memphis, Arkansas, and Terry Morgan of Yazoo City, Mississippi. Visitation will be held 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2020 at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel. Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 14, 2020, at Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Pensacola Naval Air Station, Pensacola, Florida. The family requests memorial donations may be made, in Cecil’s name, to your preferred veteran’s charity.
