Charles (Chaz) Conrad Strauch II, age 66, passed on peacefully in his sleep on Feb. 10th, 2013, at his home in Milton, FL near Pensacola. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Mary Strauch, Mother-in-law Carolyn Marie Kerry-O’Neil, Uncle Robert and Aunt Dollie, and one nephew, Jesse Strauch, and extended family member, Paul Duke. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Bobbie “BJ” Jeanette (Price) Kerry-Strauch of Milton, FL, Daughter & Son-In-Law, Dauna & Al Beutel , Son, Steven Strauch and daughter and son-in-law Hope and Dave Viviano all of Jacksonville, FL, Aunt Janie of Alabama, Brothers, Cliff Strauch and Chad & Martha Strauch, and sister Lynne Strauch all of New York, foster brothers Peter and Bruce, father-in-law John O’Neil of Shreveport, LA, brother-in-law James Michael Kerry & wife Elizabeth Bossier-Kerry and family, and Sister-in-law Tonya Lynette Kerry-Davis and husband Walter and family all of Bossier City/Shreveport, LA, and grandchildren, Jordan, Dominick, Ashli, Steven, Alexa and new baby, nieces and nephews, Jamey and Jason Strauch, Benjamin, Alisha, and Christopher Strauch and extended family members to include, Capt. John & Joan Moffatt and daughter Heather, Glenn “Snake” Smith, Bob McNamarra, Dale & Janice Akers & family, Al & Gloria Blevin and son, Stewart & Family, TJ Delaine & Family, Lisa & Don Lyons and family, Margie and Paul Monize, Jim Goff, Carol Line-Bohlmann-White, Jeff (Bo) Bohlmann , Top and Sandy Parsons, Stormy and Scott Parsons and family, Joe and Yasuko Hogan & family, Loni Akers, David and Gianna Childers and family, Lora Costanzo and family, Dr. Nancy and Ed Owens, and countless others too numerous to mention. The family would also like to acknowledge Chaz's extended Florida family: Logan Fink and family, Doc Conrad Brewer and Miss B., Eric and Jaralea Garrett & family, Lynn & Joyce Garrett & family, Steve Joiner, Warren Weeks, Terrell and Theresa Lemond, Bill Hughes, Phil Brown and many others. A man dedicated to God, his family, friends and country. He will long be remembered for his love and kindness to those who came into his life. Chaz travelled the world touching so many lives and earning the respect and admiration of those who knew him. Chaz will be remembered and missed deeply by his immediate and extended family who saw him as a mentor “walking and talking encyclopedia” and father figure. Chaz cared deeply for the world around him with all of his dogs holding a special place in his heart. After Chaz's Navy Cryptologic career, he studied and worked as a forester to protect the earth for future generations. Chaz was an avid outdoorsman with a passion for fishing and all things living. Lord please accept this husband, brother, father, friend and shipmate into your kingdom for eternity. “God doesn’t count against you the days you spend fishing” Chaz Strauch. Visitation will begin at 12:30PM on Saturday 16 Feb, with memorial services commencing at 1400 (2PM) at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton with reception to follow. Interment will be determined at a later date.
