Charles Wermer

Charles Otto “Chuck” Wermer, 77, passed away in his home in Milton, Florida, Wednesday, August 30, 2017. He was born in Hillsdale, Michigan on January 26, 1940, to Alfred and Helen Wermer, and the family moved to Montpelier, Ohio, in 1942. Chuck graduated from Montpelier High School in 1958 and he went on to graduate from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. His early life was busy with the family (he was the first of ten children). Chuck lived and worked in the Columbus, Ohio, area where he met and married Carol Molloy on May 24, 1990. In 2001, they moved to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and beaches and continued to be lifetime Ohio State football fans. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two brothers, Robert and David. Chuck is survived by his wife of 27 years, Carol Molloy; three brothers, Richard (Karen) of Hicksville, Ohio, Joseph (Penny) of Los Alamos, New Mexico, and James (Bonnie) of Lake Alfred, Florida; four sisters, Susan (Steve) Prough of Austin, Texas, Dorothy (Jerry) Boyce of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Nancy (Carey) Cook of Lake Villa, Illinois, and Alice (Tom) Mullins of Huron, Ohio; sister-in-law, Anne Marie (David) Wermer, of New York City; aunt, Elizabeth Snyder of Van Wert, Ohio; and many cherished nieces, nephews and extended family members. The family will have a private memorial service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to their church: Christian Life Church, 4401 Avalon Blvd., Milton, Florida. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, has been entrusted with arrangements.
