Christine Beard Hardy, 91, of Pace, passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2017. Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Matthew 6:33 KJV Christine was born June 22, 1925, in Greene County, Mississippi. She was of the Baptist faith. She loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, first and foremost, sharing his love and grace with all she met. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She always put others before herself, loving to cook for her family and friends. The children affectionately remember her saying, “You sure are getting fat, do you want some more cornbread? Come on, eat some more!” Christine had a great passion for life, Auburn football, the New Orleans Saints, Humming Birds, and flowers. She will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved her. She is predeceased by her parents, Jesse and Lottie (Pierce) Beard; a brother, William Beard; and two sisters, Doris Beech and Mabel Lundy. Mrs. Hardy is survived by her husband, Shepard Earl Hardy; three sons, Eddie D. (LaVonne) Hillman, Kenneth E. (Helen) Hardy, and Richard D. (Pam) Hardy; six grandchildren, Wessley Hillman, Lara Stark, Heath Hardy,Rick Hardy, Cali Wilson, and Misti Childers; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Mike Poston officiating. Visitation will be held 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. prior to the services.
