Christine Murray Obituary

On March 22nd Christine M. Murray, age 63 passed from this life into eternal life with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Christine is survived by her husband, Robert James Murray; sons, Robert James Murray, Jr. and Richard Thomas Murray (Debra); daughter, Laura Leanne O’Brien (Michael); mother, Muriel Von Salzen; sisters, Francine Muriel Petrone (Timothy), AliceAnn Cilio (John), Deborah Ann Doyle (Paul), Roxanne Ziegler (David); brothers, John Richard Von Salzen, Jr. (Lisa), George William Ziegler and Glenn Ziegler. She had 13 beautiful grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Christine’s desire was to live a life pleasing to her Redeemer. Her life was a testament on how to be a Godly wife, mother and grandmother. Having been faithfully married to her husband for over 45 years, her example to others was truly inspirational. She was always kind, loving and respectful to her husband and made her marriage one to be envied by those around her. She handled every situation in life with patience, grace and honor. Her kind, unselfish, and gentle spirit created a wonderful environment for raising her children and many grandchildren. Christine was a longtime member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church and loved her church family very much. She especially enjoyed the sermons preached each Sunday by her caring and thoughtful pastor, Brother Carl Gallups. She listened to and applied the teachings of God’s word to her life. In a day where many people simply just talk about Jesus, Christine quietly went about living the teachings of her faith. Day after day with utmost consistency, she chose to love and honor her beloved Savior. She was a devoted wife, caring and nurturing mother, and true friend to those that knew her. She had a special place in her heart for her childhood friend, Jeri Klowas, and her best friend of 45 years, Amy Cordray, who was by her side everyday during her illness. In Proverbs 31:10-31 we find the attributes of a virtuous woman. Christine exemplified the descriptions in these passages and was an example for everyone on how a woman should live a life pleasing unto God. She will be deeply missed by everyone, but there will also be much rejoicing for certainly she ran the race set before her with endurance and has received her heavenly reward. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hickory Hammock Baptist Church (Milton) – Peru Missions. Visitation will be at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church in East Milton on Monday, March 26, 2012 from 10 am until 11 am. Service to follow at 11 am with interment at Memory Park Cemetery. LEWIS FUNERAL HOME, 6405 Highway 90, Milton is in charge of arrangements.
