Craig Dempsey Nettles, 40, went home to be with the Lord on January 8, 2017. He fought the good fight. He finished his race. Craig is preceded in death by his mother, Jane; uncles Wayne & Tommy Weekley; grandparents, Gilbert Weekley, and Dempsey and Shirley Nettles. He is survived by his daughter, Allie; wife, Leighann; father, Byron (Brenda) Nettles; sister, Christa (Michael) Spooneybarger; nephews, Karson and Peyton; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Craig loved his family and he loved the Lord. He struggled with addiction his whole life – but he knew Jesus, he was loved by Jesus, and he’s home in Heaven with Jesus now. Those who knew Craig knew his heart was pure and full of love. He would help anyone at any time, no matter the cost. He was truly a good person, flaws and all. He will be missed greatly. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017, at Pace Assembly of God. Family visitation at 11:00 a.m.; friends at 11:30 a.m.; and service at 1:00 p.m. Lewis Funeral Home, Pace, has been entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Waterfront Rescue Mission or Pathways for Change treatment facilities.
