Dean Dellinger

Dean Wesley Dellinger, Sr., 91, of Milton passed away on Friday June 21, 2013 at his home. Mr. Dellinger was born in Newton, North Carolina and had resided in the Milton area since 1958. He retired from American Cyanamid with almost 25 years of service. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and served in the Army’s Navy called Harbor Craft in the Philippines. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Milton. Mr. Dellinger was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Dellinger, wife of 3 years, Mildred Dellinger and a son Dean Wesley Dellinger, Jr. Mr. Dellinger is survived by a son, Drew Dellinger of Milton; two daughters and sons in law, Gloria and Tom Carter of Milton, and Dorinda and Lewis Lynn of Milton; a daughter in law, Patricia Dellinger of Ft. Walton; 7 grandchildren, Heidi Carter (Andy) DeGuire, Keena Carter (Travis) Oran, Dorothy Lynn (Ricky) Wallace, Celia Lynn (Michael) Hernandez, Sarah Lynn, Brande Dellinger Kempf, and Keri Dellinger; and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral Services for Mr. Dellinger will be held at 2 pm on Monday , June 24, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Milton with Pastor Kathy Knight and Rev. Andy DeGuire officiating. Burial will follow in the Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 pm on Monday, June 24, 2013, prior to services, at the First United Methodist Church in Milton.
