Dennis “Wayne” Garlock, age 85, of Milton, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2016. He was born in Galveston, Texas, on May 9, 1930, to the late Raymond Milton Garlock and Ida Mae Sneed Garlock. Wayne graduated from Allentown High School, and afterwards served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He graduated from Auburn University (A.P.I.) in 1956 in Business Administration. While at Auburn he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi, honorary business fraternity, and Theta Chi, social fraternity. In 1963, Wayne became the first State Farm Insurance agent in Milton, retiring in 1993. Over the years he was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, where he served on the Board of Directors; the Jaycees, and the Navy League. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Milton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jerry Garlock. Wayne is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jane Williams Garlock; two daughters, Janie (Ernie) Parker, and Jill (Jimmy) Brown, both of Milton; his two sisters, Barbara (Robert) Clark of Gainesville, Florida, and Patricia Begnoche of Boynton Beach, Florida; two grandchildren, Rusty Black and Kaylen Black Giadrosich; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, April 11, 2016, at First Baptist Church of Milton, with Dr. David Spencer officiating. Burial will follow services in Serenity Gardens Cemetery in Milton. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., prior to the services. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, directing.
