Edward J. Esz, 88, of Pace, FL. passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016.
He was born in Brooklyn, New York, graduated high school and joined the Army in 1945 serving in Germany during WWII. After marrying, he and his wife Dorothy and their daughter Christine moved to Lakewood where he worked as a butcher for over 30 years. He and his wife Dorothy moved to Ocala, Florida, for warmer temperatures after he retired. He was a resident of Victorian Manor in Pace and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy; his father, John; his mother, Frances; and three sisters, Jane, Pat and Genevieve.
He is survived by his daughter, Christine (Tom) Gurski of Milton; his son; Eddie (Karen) of Suwanee Georgia; grandchildren, Kathryn (Kevin) Pinckard of Pace, Matthew Esz, Ryan Esz, Maggie Esz of Suwanee Georgia; and two great-grandchildren, Chase and Camryn Pinckard of Pace, Florida.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church on Friday, January 29, 2016; with visitation an hour before mass. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, directing.
