Edward Roukema, Jr. (Ret. U.S.N.) Edward Roukema, Jr., age 75 died on Wednesday May 30, 2012 at his home in Milton, FL. He retired form the United States Navy at NAS Whiting Field in 1977. Ed was the son of Edward and Edna Saunders Roukema of Whitinsville, MA. He was employed by Beech Aero Space Industry (BASI) after retirement where he met many friends. Ed loved working in his yard, and was Loyal to His Country, His God and His Family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Roukema, Sr. of Punta Gorda , FL and his mother Edna Marin of Whitinsville, MA; his brother, Richard Harry Roukema U.S. Army Ret., Manassas, VA. He leaves to mourn his loss, his wife of 29 yrs., Virginia "Ginger"; four daughters, Pam (Robert) Carnley of Pensacola, FL, Lori (Larry) Jobe of TX, Paula Leanne Free of Milton, FL, Annalisa McBroom of Milton, FL; one son, Edward Roukema III of Milton, FL; three grandsons, Robert Edward Carnley of Pensacola, FL, Robert Edward Allen McBroom of Milton, FL, and Joshua Free of Milton, FL; two sisters, Francis (Dick) Trottier of Whitinsville, MA, Kathy (David) Swan of Worcester, MA; many nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Norm White of Milton, FL. The family wishes to thank the staff of Covenant Hospice of Milton, FL. A very special nurse, Tracy Blackmon, RN of Covenant Hospice, Jeff Scott and his staff of Publix Pharmacy, and Santa Common, Pace, FL. Friends may call at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel sunday evening, June 3, 2012, between the hours of 7:00p.m. and 9:00p.m. Services for Edward will be Monday, June 4, 2012 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel beginning at 1:00p.m. Burial to follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
