Edward Simmons

Edward R. “Eddie” Simmons, 70, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016. Eddie was a native of Bagdad. He was a graduate of Milton High School, US Army Vietnam Veteran, and a member of Blackwater Baptist Church. He was a welder/pipefitter for Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 366. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Judy Simmons; brother, Billy (Ann) Simmons of Milton; son, Todd Simmons of Milton; daughter, Nikki (Jason) Zylstra; a special granddaughter, Shea Simmons (Tyler Brown); grandchildren, Casey Zylstra, Layla Simmons, and Paisley Brown; a special friend and “claimed granddaughter”, Jodi Lewis; and many long time friends. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 15, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Burial will follow services at Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to the Blackwater Baptist Church Building Fund (Blackwater Baptist Church, 11689 Munson Hwy, Milton, Florida, 32570.)
