Edwin “David” Van Leer, 63, of Chumuckla, FL went to be with the Lord on December 19th, 2011. David is survived by his wife of 42 years, Diane; a daughter, Mary Shank and 3 grandsons who were the light of his life - Ryan, Jason and Connor. He is also survived by siblings Henry (Barbara) Van Leer, Robert (Elena) Van Leer, Sheila Anderson and Father In Law Jim Shafron. David retired from BellSouth after 39 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. A memorial service in honor of David will be held at Lewis Funeral Home at 4777 W. Spencerfield Rd in Pace, FL at 11am on Tuesday December 27th, 2011. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Covenant Hospice of Pensacola in David’s memory.
