Edwin “Ed” Watson died peacefully on the afternoon of July 3rd, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 30, 1933 in Huntington, West Virginia to William Edwin and Ernestine Massie Watson. Ed’s multifaceted life included serving honorably in the Navy, and in the Korean and Vietnam wars. After retiring from the Navy, he worked as a hospital tech, security guard, and artist/carpenter. Ed was an avid bowler and firearms enthusiast, but later in life his most notable passion was doting on his beloved granddaughter, Catherine. He is survived by his daughter, Mary Anne (David) Edwards, granddaughter, Catherine Edwards, sister in law Patricia Watson, nephew Bruce Watson, and devoted friends, Bill Johnson and Ed Hayden. Ed is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Mary Glen Watson and his brothers Bruce and Mel. Visitation will be at the Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, Florida on Friday, July 14, 2017 at 11:00 am. Ed will have Graveside burial with military honors at Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station Pensacola.
