Ernestine Wiggins

Mrs. Ernestine Melba Wiggins, age 90, passed away on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at Sandy Ridge Nursing Home in Milton, Florida. Mrs. Wiggins was born in Excel, Alabama and lived in Frisco City until moving to the Monroeville area in 1993. Shortly thereafter she moved to Milton, Florida to be near family. She was a devout Christian and member of Frisco City First Baptist Church and Pine Terrace Baptist Church in Milton, Florida. Mrs. Wiggins was a loving Mother and worked for several years as a Supervisor with Vanity Fair and Sportswear. Mrs. Wiggins was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Alice Jenkins, her husband, Howard Lewis Wiggins, one sister, Mildred Bailey, two brothers, Harold Jenkins and Bruce Jenkins, her daughter, Louise Smith and her grandson, Todd Smith. Mrs. Wiggins is survived by three sons, Allen Wiggins and wife, Kathy of Huntsville, Alabama, Don Wiggins and wife, Steph of Milton, Florida, and Rev. Mike Wiggins and wife, Cindy of Milton, Florida; nine grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 3:00 PM at the Monroe Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Justin Gambrell and Rev. Mike Wiggins officiating. Burial will follow in the Frisco City Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, July 16, 2018 at 1:00 PM for family and at 2:00 PM for friends and acquaintances of Mrs. Wiggins. Pallbearers will be Craig Wiggins, Brian Wiggins, Chad Wiggins, Ryan Wiggins, Troy Smith and Charles Bailey. Honorary pallbearers will be Chris Wiggins and Michael Bush. The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to your favorite charitable organization. Lewis Funeral Home of Milton was entrusted with local arrangements. Monroe Chapel Funeral Home (2252 Hwy. 84 West, Frisco City, Alabama 36445) was entrusted with arrangements in Alabama.
