Etta Trehern Obituary

Etta Dolores Trehern, 83, of Milton, went to be with the Lord before the dew had dried on the yellow roses. She has gone to be with Jesus! Sitting at the heavenly banquet table are her mother and father, Myrtie and Letcher Black; her three married brothers, Paul Russell and Mamie Black, Merle and Patsy Black, and Russell Black (survived by his wife, Shirley Black.) In the high chairs at the banquet table are their very young grandchildren, who rapidly passed from their parents to God’s sweet touch, Jeremiah Robert Trehern, Miriam Grace Cavanaugh and Joanna Mercy Cavanaugh. Dolores is survived by her daughter, Brenda Dolores Richardson; and Brenda’s daughter and son-in-law, April Dawn and Sloan Blatchford; and her son, Ashley Christopher McDaniel from Texas. She also leaves to cherish her memory, her son and daughter-in-law, Herbert “Robert” Trehern, Jr. and Sue Trehern from Huntsville, Alabama; and Robert’s and Sue’s children, Hannah and Donal Cavanaugh, Naomi and Sean Head, Lydia Trehern, and Caleb Trehern. Etta Dolores Trehern had two great-grandchildren, Relina Katlyn Blatchford and Sonya Elizabeth Cavanaugh. Her last resting place on earth will be next to her devoted husband of 57 years, Herbert Robert Trehern, Sr. When Jesus returns they will resurrect from the Fidelis Methodist Church cemetery. Dolores was a country girl who worked as a bookkeeper for Borden Dairy until she married Herbert and Brenda came along. Robert was a wonderful addition to the family. Mom lived for her family. Their home welcomed military men from church and they made our home their home. The family would move into Grandma and Grandpa Black’s home whenever they needed to. Their faith and generosity is honored in the naming of Trehern Hall in Brewton First Church of the Nazarene. Dolores was a strong woman until two weeks before her demise on Wednesday, June 27, 2018. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Fidelis Methodist Church Cemetery, Jay, with Rev. James Meadows officiating. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, has been entrusted with arrangements.
