Gloria McMahon

Gloria McMahon, 92, of Milton, Florida, passed away Tuesday, January 24, 2017. Gloria was born in Roxbury, Massachusetts, and lived in the Boston area until becoming a Navy wife to Joseph F. McMahon in June of 1951, and moving to Pensacola, Florida. The military took them to Pennsylvania, Iceland, Italy, and back to Florida where they retired in 1970. Gloria was a home maker who loved to spend her time traveling, shopping, and volunteering at Santa Rosa Medical Center where she was a volunteer for many decades. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Ann Katzoff; and her beloved husband of nearly sixty years, Joseph F. McMahon Sr. She is survived by her three children, Rosemarie Whelan, Joanne Blakemore, and Joseph F. McMahon Jr; one granddaughter, Cindy (Ted) Peaden; and two great-grandsons, Cole and Grant Peaden. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Msgr. Michael Reed, of Saint Rose of Lime Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will follow services in Barrancas National Cemetery. Visitation will be held 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., prior to the service. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Forsyth House and Regency Hospice for the love and care given to Gloria. Donations may be made to Regency Hospice of Northwest Florida, 50 Beverly Pkwy., Ste. 200, Pensacola, FL 32505.
