On Friday, June 24th, at 3:15 p.m., Greg finished his battle with cancer. He stood up & said Holy Spirit Deliver me & Jesus said It is finished! For the past 6 years, we as a family have stood together with Greg & fought this battle. From the beginning when the diagnosis came Greg & I looked at each other & said we have heard the report, BUT we know God is our healer, and for 6 years that agreement never changed. We refused to let cancer be our identity or our focus as we had bigger things to do, & God was in control.... He alone ordered our steps & had a plan. We had life to live, three beautiful daughters to continue to raise, grandchildren to play with & promises from God that still needed to be fulfilled. Many of you knew Greg only as a minister of the gospel, but we knew Greg as a family man.... He loved to laugh, watch our girls in their sports, school & church activities, take "His 4 blondes" on dates, fish, spend time at the beach, ride his bicycle, take the girls to breakfast & school rides to & from school being silly & jamming out in the car. He loved our "Family Shows" with the five of us him playing guitar & us all singing worship songs in our living room. Our house was always a home where everyone was welcome & there was always one more seat available at the table. More than anything he was proud of the family God has blessed us with. We were & are so proud of Greg. He showed us what true faith really is. He never pushed his way to the front...... He knew God would make a way & God always did. Greg’s spirit was gentle & kind & humble. I always said he was Clark Kent by day but turned into Superman in the pulpit. It always amazed people to meet him after church because he was so soft spoken & quiet. His confidence was in the Lord! Greg fought the most courageous battle. Many nights sitting by his bed knowing that he was holding onto God & God was bringing him through. We knew until the vision the Lord gave him was fulfilled he would be right where God wanted him. Greg knew he would preach to the nations & God fulfilled that through SBN & Jimmy Swaggart Ministries. Greg went there in maintenance & with an opportunity to play guitar & was over the moon to do it because he would do anything to have the opportunity to minister. He was a Senior Pastor for 20 years, but he was humble & willing to go through whatever door the Lord provided for him to minister. God again raised Greg up & gave him what he promised. Greg reached more people in his first sermon on SBN then in 40 years of ministry combined. God honored his humble heart & heart for the lost. In the last two years countless people from across the globe have been touched by Greg's ministry & his courageous battle. He pointed people to Christ & fulfilled His calling. In the final two months, Greg & our family had time to laugh, love & be together. We had our "Family Show" at the condo, went boating, went to Disney, rode rollercoasters, & sat on the beach. Greg took our girls on "Daddy - Daughter dates” & we shared lots of hugs & were thankful for what God had done. God showed himself faithful.....He fulfilled His promises to Greg. We rejoice that Greg is no longer in sickness or pain, and yet our hearts are broken & hurt in places we didn't know existed. We find ourselves wanting to text him, FaceTime him or just hear his laugh. The love you have extended to Greg, Tayler, Abbie, Anna & I has been amazing. Your prayers & support have carried us through the most difficult time we as a family have ever faced. To each of you thanks is inadequate to express. We covet your continued love & support through the coming months. We haven't lost Greg/Dad, we know exactly where he is. We carry him in our hearts & his fingerprints are all over us & each of you as he touched us all. Please know every time you play Greg's cd or sing his song Satan is defeated & Greg’s ministry continues. He & I talked about how that the devil will never stop what God started in him. Love , Diane , Tayler, Abbie & Anna ________OBITUARY__________________________ Reverend Greg Coleman, 60, of Navarre, Florida, passed away Friday June 24, 2016. Greg was born October 16, 1955, in Evansville, Indiana, to Norman and Jean Coleman. He grew up with his three older sisters, Sandy Coleman Whitmer, Joyce Coleman (Jim) Miller, and Debby Coleman (Harold) Cypret, and his younger brother, Mark (Kim) Coleman, in Cahokia, Illinois. Greg and his family traveled the country as Assembly of God evangelists for many years. He was an ordained Assembly of God minister and pastored The Harbor at Holley Assembly of God for 19 years. Greg was a Presbyter for District 3 with the Northwest Florida Assemblies of God. He was very active in the Navarre Community with the YMCA and the Navarre Youth Sports Association by hosting the basketball program at the Holley Dome for many years, which helped establish the community’s only youth basketball program. He was a huge supporter to Navarre High School and its many sports programs and clubs. He opened the doors of his church for practices, banquets, and award ceremonies for the entirety of his pastoral career in Navarre. Greg was a member of the Navarre Rotary Club and was a founding co-sponsor of the Interact Club at Navarre High School. He oversaw the development of A.C.T.S. Ministries, one of the largest benevolence programs in Northwest Florida. Greg was a member of ASCAP as a songwriter, he has published numerous Christian songs that have been sung around the world by various recording artists. Greg was an Associate Pastor at Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he sang, played guitar, and preached over the SonLife Broadcasting Network, reaching millions of viewers around the world. Greg was an accomplished studio musician and singer and played on thousands of recording projects for major ministries and recording artists in the Christian Community. Greg was married to Diane Phillips Coleman for 32 years; and had four daughters, Amber Brooke Coleman, Tayler Coleman(Stuart) Baldick, Abbie Maegan Coleman, and Anna Elizabeth Coleman. He was an amazing Poppy to his grands, Jordyn Avery Baldick and Stuart "Wesley" Baldick IV. Greg has numerous nieces, nephews, and family members that he loved dearly. Greg was an incredible father and husband whose proudest accomplishment was his family. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Norman Eugene Coleman, and his oldest daughter, Amber Brooke Coleman. Service Information: Tuesday, June 28th, Graveside service at 2:00 p.m., at the Milton Cemetery with Reverend Fred Rogers officiating. Family and friends are invited to attend. Thursday, June 30th at 2:00 p.m., there will be a Memorial Service at Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, officiated by Reverend Joe Lay, Reverend Donnie Swaggart, and Reverend Jimmy Swaggart.
