Hazel (Andrews) Alford of Milton, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at home with her husband and several family members at her side, Mrs. Alford was 88 years old. She was a homemaker who loved caring for her families needs, she enjoyed many interests, including collecting dolls, vintage cars, gardening, sewing and most memorable sunbathing on the beach. Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her parents, Carnie and Lee Harlson, her first husband, Alvin Andrews, father to her nine children, one son, Jerry Andrews, one sister, Bonnie Mitchell. Mrs. Alford is survived by her husband Ronnie Alford to whom she was married for Forty-Five years, her children, Alieen Sclease, Harriet Melvin, Linda (Harold) Spivey, Raye Lucas, Sharon (Mike) Bishop, Johnny Andrews, Ann (Mickey) Salter, Carmen Brewer, her siblings Stanley Harlson, Jean (Melvin) Hinnant, Sue (Louie) Ward, Dean (Rusty) Galloway; numerous grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Mrs. Alford had been in the care of her husband Ronnie Alford and her daughter Carmen Brewer for the last several years. The Alford family would like to thank her physician Dr. Dennis Mayeaux, Council on Aging and TLC caregivers, and Regency Hospice for their dedication to providing excellent care and support to the family in a professional and loving manner. Visitation will be from 11AM Thursday in the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel until time of funeral services at 1 PM. The Rev. Mike Poston will officiate with burial in the Old Holt Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Michael Kapotsy, Mitchell Gollogher, Donnie Watkins, John (J. J.) Johnson, J. D. Brewer, Cecil Brewer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Rex McLean, Wayne Gunter and Eddie Melton.
