Jack Bernard Samples, Sr., 83, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2018. Jack grew up in Dearborn, Michigan, and was a graduate of Michigan State University. He was a Physical Education teacher at Bryant Junior High School, an Assistant Principal at Dearborn High School and a Principle at Maples Elementary, all in the Dearborn Public Schools System. Jack and his wife Carole (deceased), lived in the communities of Livonia and West Bloomfield, Michigan, until their retirements from the Dearborn and Livonia Public School Systems respectively. They both lived in Sarasota, Florida, and Caseville, Michigan, until as recently as 2016. Jack later sold both homes and lived at the Veranda of Pensacola and then Clarity Pointe, both in Pensacola, Florida. Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Carole Marie Samples; his parents, Barney and June Samples; and his grandson, Sean Samples. Jack is survived by his brother, Richard (Joy) Samples of Pueblo, Colorado; and children, Jack (Shane) Samples Jr., of Novi, Michigan, David (Jean) Samples, of Milton, Florida, and Kris (Pat) Abold, of Baldwinsville, New York. In addition, Jack is survived by seven grandchildren, Steven, Caitlyn, Mark, Amanda, Jeff, Kyle and Taylor; and five great grandchildren, Brayden, Keira, Isla, Cael and Lucian. A memorial service will be conducted in Michigan at a later date. Donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Disease Research, Clarksburg, MD. The Samples family would like to thank the staffs of Veranda of Pensacola, Clarity Pointe, and Emerald Coast Hospice, for the excellent care and love shown to Jack. It surely made his life and the surviving family members lives much easier.
