Jackie Earl Strickland, Sr., 66, of Milton, passed away Friday, August 25, 2017.
Jackie was born July 12, 1951, in Opp, Alabama. He was a graduate of Milton High School. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam Era. One of his greatest joys in life was fishing, didn’t matter where – just so he could “go wet a hook” – and as Jackie was often heard saying . . . “Just want me a little nip of Crown!” He was so loved by his family and friends, and will be forever missed.
He is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Strickland; and mother, Sara Louise Weaver Cortez.
Jackie is survived by his son, Jack E. Strickland, Jr., of Fort Walton Beach, Florida; a brother, Joe Cortez, of Milton; a sister, Emily Cortez, of Milton; and an aunt, Libby Weaver, of Milton.
