James C. “J.C.” Branch May 24, 1940 – January 15, 2014 Mr. James C. “J.C.” Branch, 73, of Milton, passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2014. Mr. Branch was born near Elizabeth City, North Carolina, and had resided in the Milton area since 2003. He was a 1958 graduate of Central High School in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Mr. Branch worked for the Southland Corporation in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and retired as a District Manager, after 25 years of service. He was a United States Coast Guard Veteran, having served his country from 1959 to 1963. He was a member of the Bagdad First United Methodist Church. Mr. Branch is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jean Branch; two daughters, Melinda (Matthew) Baransy, and Patty Cosnotti; two grandchildren, Megan Baransy and Emma Baransy; two sisters, Martha Andreau and Peggy (Curwood) Harrison; and a brother, William “Jake” (Sylvia) Branch. A Memorial Service for Mr. Branch will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at the Bagdad First United Methodist Church. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, is entrusted with arrangements.
