James Hagan

James R. Hagan, 81, of Pace, passed away Monday, March 14, 2016. Jim was a native of Fall River, Massachusetts, and one of sixteen children born to the late John and Elizabeth Hagan. He was a U.S. Army veteran of Korea and Vietnam and worked in land surveying in the Pensacola area. Jim is survived by his wife of forty years, Patricia “Patty” (Backner) Hagan of Pace, Florida; two sons, William Hagan of Pace, and Robert Hagan of Pensacola; three grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley Guilmette of Fall River, Massachusetts, and Barbara Wisniewski of Arizona; two brothers, Kenneth Hagan of Brooksville, Florida, and Charles Hagan of Riverside, Rhode Island; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, March 21, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Pace Chapel (4777 West Spencerfield Road, Pace, Florida 32571). Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at Bible Way Baptist Church in Milton, with Pastor Bill Wright officiating. Burial will follow at Barrancas National Cemetery, onboard Pensacola Naval Air Station. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in his name to the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org, or by calling 1-800-822-6344.
