Obituary
James W “Jim” Hollingsworth, 78, of Milton, Florida, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2020. Jim was born May 9, 1942, to HS & Mary Hollingsworth at Lakeview Hospital in Florarla, Alabama. He attended Covington County High School as well as Auburn University. He retired from Monsanto after 36 years of service; he was a member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Reina Hollingsworth; parents, HS and Mary Wyatt Hollingsworth, all of Florala, Alabama; and his brother-in-law, Marshal Bentley. Jim is survived by his precious wife of 33 years, Verna R Hollingsworth; sister, Jane Hollingsworth Bentley; son, Mark Allen (Tammy) Hollingsworth; step-children, Sharon Voight and Michael Voight; grandsons, Steven Hollingsworth, Dillon Hollingsworth, Trey Benitez, Shane Benitez and Luke Whitley; great grandson, Cooper Benitez; niece, Susan Chandler; and his nephew, Bob Bentley. A Memorial Service, for Jim, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 23, 2020, at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, Florida, with Pastor Carl Gallups officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service. There will be a family burial at a later date where Jim will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Florala, Alabama.
