James Mason Johnson, age 77, of Milton, passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016. James was born January 16 1939, in Milton, to the late James Rufus and Connie Bell Johnson. He was the oldest of ten siblings. He was a devoted family man, beloved father, and greatest grandpa ever. He loved his trade of carpentry and loved to fish. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Kimberly Diane Blattau; brother, Bobby Eugene Johnson; and a sister, Betty Sue Johnson. James is survived by his daughter, Kristy Johnson Croft of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Joshua Paul Edwards, Charles Wayne Wood Jr., Amanda Leigh Edwards and Patricia Dawn Garcia; four great-grandchildren, Hannah M. Wood, Wesley M. Wood, Aiden M. Wood and Grayson M. Wood; son-in-law, Michael Blattau. He also leaves to cherish his memory, two sisters, Louise Lowery and Lois Bell; and five brothers, Randall Johnson, Tommy Johnson, William Johnson, Kenny Johnson and Teddy Johnson. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with his brother, Rev. Kenny Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m., prior to the service.
