James Michael "Mickey" McNair, 75, of Bagdad, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2014. Mickey was born and raised in Bagdad as the oldest child of James and Mary Alice McNair and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bagdad. He attended Milton High School and was a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree. Mickey proudly served his country for 12 years in the United States Air Force, including a deployment to serve in Vietnam. After retiring from the Air Force as a Captain, he was a Correctional Officer for over 20 years, in Washington State at the Snohomish County Correctional Facility and also joined the Army Reserve and served with the 316th Military Intelligence Detatchment until he retired as a Major in 1998. Mickey is survived by his wife of 30 years, Esperanza Tecson McNair of MIlton, FL; his son, Shawn McNair of Anacortes, WA; and his daughters, Heather McNair of Mountlake Terrace, WA; Erin McNair (Siemon) Slagter of Sammamish, WA; Shannon McNair (Daryl) Aston of Rapid City, SD; Marilyn Finch of Everett, WA; Teresa Finch (Trent) Barbee of Everett, WA; and nine grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Mary Antoniette "Toni" (Lawrence) Merino, many cousins, neices, nephews, other family and lots of good friends. Viewing for James Michael McNair will be held at 11:00am on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home followed by services with Military Honors at Fort Barrancas National Cemetery, Pavilion A at 2:00pm. There will also be a Celebration of Life service, with Pastors Clive Knight and Gary Jones officiating, at 11:00am on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Bagdad, followed by a luncheon.
