James Thomas

James Thomas of Milton, FL (known to his business friends as "Jim" and to his family "Bo") died on Friday, September 27, 2013 from complications of a blood disorder. He is predeceased by his son, James "Ricky or Rick" Thomas; mother, Frances Locke; father, James Howard Thomas; mother-in-law, Mary Bass; father-in-law, Teddy Bass; sister-in-law, Margie Bass; and brother-in-law, R.T. "Bob" Richardson. Bo is survived by his wife, Sharon Bass Thomas; daughter, Kristina (Jimmy) Pate; sisters, Brenda Balius and Camille Wilson; brothers-in-law, Billy (Vicky) Bass and Donnie (Phoung) Bass; sister-in-law, Wanda Richardson; niece, Stacey Richardson; grandchildren, Destani Thomas, Hunter and Levi Pate; and a special nephew, Dylan Belanger. Bo served in the U.S. Navy for four years making three tours in Vietnam. He was very proud of his service to his country. In 1967 Bo was discharged from the U. S. Navy and moved to Niceville, FL where he meet Sharon at a local Church. When Sharon graduated from high school in 1968, they were married and made their home in Milton, FL. His career at American Cyanamid began in Production and led to Management until he retired in 2001. He left there and in three days was hired into the book publishing company Sharon worked for as Operations Manager. In 2005, the business was transferred to Colorado and the job ended for Bo and Sharon. James first priority was always his family. He loved going to church, remodeling, and being with his family. After a major heart attack in 2007, a blood disorder, and other major medical conditions, he became disabled and his ability to function was limited. Graveside services will be held at 11AM on Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, FL with Rev. Brian Kinsey, officiating. Family will receive friends from 5-7PM on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel. Bo was a wonderful husband, father, son and son-in-law. He will be missed immensely. Lewis Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
