Janet Lambert Obituary

Janet Lynn Lambert, 50, of Milton, FL passed away unexpectedly, in the arms of her husband Roger, late Monday evening July 22, 2013. Janet was born at Port Lyautey Naval Base Kenitra, Morocco on March 10, 1963, the child of Jim and Carol Bowman, a U.S. Navy family. Janet traveled the world with her family until settling down in Milton in 1977. She was a 1981 graduate of Milton High School and still had many cherished friends from those days. Janet celebrated the birth of her first child, a son, David Majzun with husband Donald Majzun on July 10, 1981. It was at this time that she began working for a local clothing factory "Vanity Fair". She worked her way up the ranks sewing, modeling etc. until finally becoming the payroll/finance officer which she held until the closing of the factory in the late 90s. Janet celebrated the birth of her 2nd child, a daughter, Miranda Strickland with husband Ron Strickland on August 4, 1990. Janet loved being a working mother and providing a loving home for her family. It was in 1998 that Janet met Roger Lambert, her husband to be, a school kid friend who had stolen a kiss on the bus in 6th. grade only to be promptly given a black-eye by her!! A courtship ensured and on Feb. 2, 2001 they married and began their life together. I (Roger)always told my mom that it was just a house until Janet came along and made it a home. Janet was a wonderful wife to me and mother to her kids of which I treat as my own and love dearly. Janet interests included playing "Bunko" with friends, knitting, beadwork, crafts but mostly she was happiest just being at home, together as a family, She cooked fabulously, mostly Italian stuff, lasagna, spaghetti, ziti, and no canned sauces. Everything from scratch. She would torture you all day smelling that stuff, but she took pride in it. Janet is preceded in death by her father, Jim bowman; and her brother, Mike Bowman. She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Roger Lambert; her son, David and his father, Donald Majzun; her daughter, Miranda and her father, Ron Strickland; granddaughter, Kayleigh Ellsworth (3); her mother, Carol Bowman; brother, Randy Bowman, wife Laura, and his children, James, Lindsey; and numerous friends. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 26, 2013 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel with Rev. Larry Webb and Rev. Ray Summerlin, officiating. Family will receive friends beginning at 2 p.m. same day as service. Burial will follow in Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Lewis Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements.
