Jennifer Tomas Obituary

Jennifer Marie Tomas, 35, of Milton, went home to our Father in heaven on Thursday, January 22, 2015. Born in Pensacola, Florida, on October 13, 1979, Jennifer grew up in Milton and touched many people’s hearts. She loved meeting new people and had many friends. Jennifer was a huge FSU fan. She volunteered at Holmes Elementary. She enjoyed fishing, bowling, watching cooking shows, and using sign language. She attended Pensacola State College. Jennifer loved everything about school. She loved buying school supplies, she loved learning and going to class, but most of all, she loved her teachers. Jennifer was so patriotic, her favorite colors were red, white, and blue. She never missed the opportunity to exercise her right to vote. Jennifer doted on her cat, Harry. Jennifer was remarkable in that she did what most of us know we should do but don’t. She maintained relationships. She called and visited friends regularly; she called her Aunties and Uncles and cousins, and old and new friends that she met along the path of her life. She had many angels watching over her. Jennifer is survived by her parents, Eusebio and Sandra Tomas; three sisters, Linda Carter (Larry), Theresa Cody (Richard) and Laura Tate (Zachary); nephews, Jeffrey and Joseph Cantillon, Aidan Cody, and Lucas and Benjamin Tate; and niece, Elizabeth Cody. Jennifer absolutely loved participating in the Special Olympics games and a memorial donation may be made in lieu of flowers to the Special Olympics: Special Olympics Florida 2001 East Lloyd Street Pensacola, FL 32503. Two rosaries will be prayed at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Milton: 5:30 p.m., Sunday, February 1; and at 9:30 a.m., Monday, February 2. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, February 2, 2015, at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church, 6451 Park Avenue, Milton, Florida, from 10 a.m. - 11 a.m., with the Funeral Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. Procession to the Barrancas National Cemetery, Naval Air Station, 1 Cemetery Road, Pensacola, Florida, will be at 12:30 p.m. A reception will follow at St. Rose of Lima’s parish hall at 3:30 p.m. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
