Jewel "Dean" Morgan Milton, Florida Obituary

Jewel "Dean" Morgan

Jewel “Dean” Morgan, age 85, passed away Saturday, November 9, 2019, in her home surrounded by her grandchildren. Jewel was born July 3, 1934, in Brewton, Alabama, to Jesse Mason and Oma Ruth Turner. She married Guy Hugh Morgan on March 8, 1952, in Lucedale, Mississippi. Jewel and Guy went on to have two children, Joseph Warren Morgan and Laura Elizabeth Morgan. Jewel and Guy moved to Point Washington, Florida and resided there until her husband passed away in 1999. She then moved to Pensacola where she enjoyed living her final years with her beloved family. Dean loved cooking most of all and cooking for her family was top priority and top notch. You would never go hungry in her presence. She enjoyed embroidery, sewing, gardening, flowers, quilting, and spoiling her dogs, Molly and Prissy. She worked in the Bay County school system and then took on her greatest role of being Grandma. Dean was best known to all as “Grandma”, as it was her proudest title to have everyone call her. She had two grandsons, Joseph Warren Morgan Jr. and Paul Hugh Morgan (Sarah Morgan); four great-grands, Jade Morgan, Harley Morgan, Lindsey Morgan and Caleb Morgan. No matter how she was feeling, Grandma ALWAYS took the time to give attention and attend all special events that her grandchildren were involved in. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids by watching silly videos with them, watching them play their video games, and even starring in some of Lindsey’s most hilarious TikTok videos. All of the grandchildren remember her stories and talks at bedtime best. She loved nothing more but to put her own desires aside and joyously care for everyone around her. Dean is preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Oma Turner; husband, Guy H. Morgan; and two children; Joseph W. Morgan and Laura E. Morgan. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, P. Lena Morgan; grandsons, Joseph Morgan Jr. and Paul Morgan; beloved granddaughter, Sarah Morgan; and great-grandchildren, Jade, Harley, Lindsey and Caleb Morgan. Grandma, you have forever warmed our hearts and this world will not be the same without you. We are happy that you are no longer suffering and are at peace with your husband and beloved children. Heaven gained another angel. In her honor, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019, at 5:00 p.m., at First Pentecostal Church, where she attended (6500 N. “W” Street, Pensacola, Florida 32505.)
