Jewel Reynolds

Jewel Christine Reynolds, 91, of Milton, Florida, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019. She was born March 7, 1928, in Brewton, Alabama, to Willie and Dovie Reynolds. Jewel trained to be a nurse at Charity Hospital, in New Orleans, and graduated in 1950. After a brief stint as an RN, Jewel went back to school and became a Nurse Anesthetist, where she worked in Mobile, Pensacola, Milton and Alaska. After retiring from being a Nurse Anesthetist, Jewel worked in home healthcare nursing. In her 70’s, for a brief stint, Jewel worked with the Peace Corps and went to Guatemala. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Warrington, Florida. Jewel loved to travel, appreciated all forms of art, music, the beauty of nature and animals of all kinds. Jewel was preceded in death by her parents and brothers and sisters. Survivors include nieces and nephews, along with many dear close friends, who will cherish her memory. A private viewing for family and close friends will be held at Lewis Funeral Home in Milton, FL at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 7, 2019. Graveside services will be held in Brewton, Alabama, at the cemetery of Zion Baptist Church on Highway 31, on Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your local animal shelter. Lewis Funeral Home of Milton has been entrusted with arrangements.
