John Boodon Milton, Florida Obituary

John Boodon

John Everett 'Jack' Boodon Jr. Msgt. (Ret.) John Everett "Jack" Boodon Jr., 83 of Milton, Fla., passed away June 3, 2014, at his home with his family by his side. John was born in Williamsport to John Everett Boodon Sr. and Grace Elizabeth McMahon on Sept. 21, 1930. Though he loved the mountains of Pennsylvania, his heart fell hard for the Florida Beaches and has been a resident of N.W. Florida for the past 50 years. He has a proud and distinguished 23 year military career and after retirement became a U.S. Postal Employee and retired from the Ft. Walton Post Office. John is survived by his wife, Bonnie Jeane Humes, of Mount Vernon, Iowa; his children, Jannette (Kurt) Boodon-Elliott, Jacqueline Hannah and stepson Henry (Carol) Jablonski; the lights of his life, his grandchildren, Lt. Kyle Elliott, USN, John Everett Boodon-Elliott, Zakary Elliott, Bryce Boodon Elliott, Justin Hannah and Christopher Jablonski; his brother, Joel Boodon; and nieces, Micki, Suzi, Joey and Signe. He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Grace and his brother, James Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Chapter of Milton, 5918 Carroll Road, Milton, FL 32583. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dr. Sharif Ibrahim, Dr Rinaldi, Covenant Hospice, Dr. Angel Williamson and his many friends for their support. John was the candle that burns twice as brightly but burned half as long, scarcely diminishing his delightful and outrageous sense of humor.
