John W. Johnson, age 66 of Milton, FL passed away suddenly Tues. March 4, 2014 in Milton, Florida from heart complications. He was born on May 25, 1947 in Crestview, FL to the late, John Morris and Cora Herrington Johnson. He was a retired Powered Support System Mechanic from Federal Civil Service at NADEP/NAS Pensacola, FL, with 31 years, including his U.S Navy military service. He was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a former tech with the FWC at the Hutton Unit in Harold, FL. He was a Wildlife Reserve Sergeant with the Florida Game and Freshwater Fish Commission for 13 years. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Bagdad, Bagdad Preservation Association, former member and Past Master of the Red Rock Lodge#96, current member of the Santa Rosa Lodge#16, York Rites, life member of DAV and VFW, and a member of the Muscogee Nation of Florida at Bruce, FL. John and his brother-in-law, Jimmie loved to garage shop together on the weekends. John was also preceded in death by an infant sister; maternal grandparents, Willie D. and Mona Cora Stewart Herrington; Big Daddy Rev. Fred Herrington and Big Mama Clara Hart Herrington; paternal grandparents, John A. and Nancy Grimes Johnson, father-in-law, Hunter L. McInnis; mothers-in-law, Alice Fields McInnis and Fannie Cumbie McInnis; brother-in-law, Jimmie H. Cassidy, Sr.; sisters-in-law , Barbara Cassidy Dawson, Linda Ingram McInnis, and Doris Cassidy Davenport. John is survived by his wife of 45 years, Addie-Faye McInnis Johnson, brothers and sister, Fred (Sandra) Johnson, Ronald Johnson, Royce D. (Cindy) Johnson and Rita Johnson (Vernon) Tedder. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Mary A. (Butch) Pace, Gail (David) Henderson, Jimmie (Debbie) McInnis, Sam (Brenda) McInnis, Mary S. Cassidy and David Dawson. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Sat. March 8, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel with Rev. Alton Nixon, officiating. Burial to follow in Bagdad Cemetery with military honors and a Masonic service.
