Foster departed his earthly life on Sunday, August 3, 2014, at age 69, to begin his heavenly journey with our Lord. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty Cook Preston, to cherish memories of a life filled with shared laughter, love and commitment; two daughters and their husbands: Pam and John Vaughn, Cathy and Len Myers; four grandchildren: Tyler and Travis Vaughn, Cassie and Catelen Myers. Extended family includes Sue Preston, Beth Preston, Tony Preston, Kim Geitz, Marcia Stephens, Wayne and Louise Cook, numerous dear cousins and close friends. Foster is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Nellie Preston; brothers: Pete, Bobby and David Preston; Extended family including Bryan Hill and Betty Preston, Paul Preston, Noel and Janet Preston. Foster was a respected man of his word. He cared deeply for his family, friends, and church. He was an ordained minister in the Community of Christ church, serving congregations in Milton and Berrydale. Foster established his own construction company in 1982 after 22 years of employment with St. Regis. He shared his construction knowledge freely on mission trips to Guatemala and El Salvador assisting in the building of churches. He took pride in driving around and pointing out local homes and churches he built over his career. He was great at training potential builders with hands on work experience. He enjoyed completing little work projects for family, friends, and his church. Foster always had a twinkle in his eye as he teased, a smile on his face, love in his heart and was quick to pull a practical joke on someone. He loved his family. He enjoyed traveling, family vacations, family camping trips, and hosting bar-b-que cookouts. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 8, 2014, at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel. Burial at Serenity Gardens Cemetery, Milton, with Lewis Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, August 7, 2014 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel.
