John Joseph Pyne, 89, of Baker/Blackman, Florida, passed away on Thursday, January 19, 2017.
Mr. Pyne was born in Brooklyn, New York, and had resided in the Baker – Blackman area since 1974. He retired from the Okaloosa County Public Works Department with over 20 years of service. He was a U.S. Army, World War II Veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ivy Alberta Pyne; two brothers; and a son, Keith Pyne.
Mr. Pyne is survived by two daughters, Nancy J. Tedder, and Dale (Gerald) Helms; two sons, John J. (Pam) Pyne, Jr., and Sean (Patty) Pyne; nine grandchildren, Raymond Tedder, Jarrod Pyne, Kevin McCranie, Cord McCranie, Heather Pyne, Sandy Pyne, Bubba Helms, Lily Helms, and Kendall Helms.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at Ard Field Cemetery with Lewis Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, at the Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
Pallbearers will be: Raymond Tedder, Cord McCranie, Gerald Helms, Billy Price, Trey Price, Duke McCranie, and Lance Hatchell.
