John Harold Templeton

John Harold Templeton went home to be with Jesus on Friday, September 11, 2015, after a hard battle with cancer. He was born February 10, 1943, in Prattville, Alabama, to John and Louise Templeton. John was a graduate of the University of Alabama, retired forester and a US Army MP Veteran. He was a faithful member of Hickory Hammock Baptist Church. John is survived by his wife of thirty very blessed years, Barbara; children, Shane (Jennifer) Templeton, Sharmaine (Kevin) Frazier, Geri (Alan) Gardner, Scott (Janice) Cook, and Craig (Tara) Cook; grandchildren, Brian, Michael and Jessica McCollum, Mackenzie, Madison and Kaitlyn Templeton, Jacob and Jared Cook, EmmaClaire Cook, and Luke Gardner; one great-grandchild, Kiley Seachrist. John was a precious gift from God to our family. He was a devoted and loving husband, a selfless, giving father; and the most wonderful "Pa" any grandchild could ever have. He enjoyed fishing, outdoor activities and loved spending time with family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15, 2015, at Hickory Hammock Baptist Church, with Pastor Carl Gallups, Dr. Greg Robards and Bro. Jimmy Rinehart officiating. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Lewis Funeral Home, Milton, directing. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in John's name to Hickory Hammock's Youth Ministry (Hickory Hammock Baptist Church, 8351 Hickory Hammock Road, Milton, Florida 32583.)
