Kenneth “Mitch” Michener, 68 of Milton, Florida passed away Friday, October 3, 2014. Born in San Bernardino, California and a U.S. Navy Veteran, his Navy service brought him to Milton, where he met his wife Frances. After marrying Frances, Mitch joined the family business, Milton Quality Bakery, which they have owned and operated for more than 40 years. Mitch was a beloved husband, father and papa. He was deeply loved, respected and admired by his family, friends and the community. Known for his love of hot rods, he always had photos and stories to share with his friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Michener and Rita Michener. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Frances Malone Michener of Milton, a son Eric (Melody) Michener, a daughter Leslie (Larry) Perino, three grandsons: Parker Smith, Chance Michener and Ezra Michener, a sister Donna Gayle Basham, and nieces Brenda Endicott, Cheryl McGill and Becky Basham. Services will be held at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel on October, 7, 2014 with visitation at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery. Mitch’s hot rod friends are invited to bring their cars to lead the funeral procession. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bethany Christian Services of the Gulf Coast 1716 E.
