Leatha Jeanette “Petie” Copeland Meader, age 93, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2019, in Milton, Florida. Leatha was a native of Berrydale, Florida, and was the eighth of thirteen children born to William L. and Clara B. Copeland. She was a member of Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Jason Upham Palmer; her son, Anthony Paul Flowers; her daughter, Ellen Paulette Flowers Poindexter; and her son-in-law, Larry Dean Talley of Martin, Tennessee. She is survived by her sister, Emma Marie “Bonnie” Copeland Jones of Tennessee; her brother, Ross Junior Copeland of North Carolina; two daughters, Anita Jean Flowers Talley and Karla Elizabeth Meader, both of Milton; her grandchildren, Dawn Michelle Flowers Hatten of Jacksonville, Jonathan Shawn Palmer, Brandun Matthew Palmer, Edna Isis Rodriguez Sheppard, Dayna Nicole Talley Wray, Shayna JeDean Talley Starnes, Julia Danielle Lowry, Dexter Brooks Lowry, and 17 great-grandchildren, including Donavann Daniel Pitts, who died in infancy. Funeral services for Leatha will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with Rev. Duke Barrows officiating. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Pine Grove Cemetery in Berrydale, with Lewis Funeral Homes directing. The family wishes to thank the staff at Pruitthealth Retirement Home for the love and care of our mother during her stay there.
