Louise Bryan Blakeney August 21, 1926 September 5, 2011 Louise Lee Bryan Robinson Blakeney, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother left this earth on September 5, 2011 to take her place with loved ones after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Meridian, Mississippi on August 21, 1926 to Mary Alice Lee and Owen Coleman Bryan. Louise spent her childhood in Enterprise, Mississippi. After graduation from Enterprise High School in 1945, she earned her B.A. from Western Kentucky University in 1950 and her M.A. in Elementary Education and English from Austin Peay University in Clarkesville, Tennessee in 1955. Her teaching career began in 1947 in Hopkinsville, Kentucky and included sixteen years at Fort Campbell, Kentucky. In 1966 she moved to Philadelphia, Mississippi where she taught for the Bureau of Indian Affairs at Choctaw Central High School until 1969. Louise moved to Milton, Florida in 1972 and devoted herself to several organizations. She was a life member of the Pensacola Chapter and the Florida State Society of the DAR, where she held a number of offices including Regent of the Pensacola Chapter and President of the State Chapter Regent’s Club. She served as Chairman of the Sarracenia Circle of the Milton Garden Club and was recently honored as a life member. She was an active member of the Protestant Women of the Chapel at NAS Whiting Field. She gave her time to the East Milton Volunteer Fire Department and was a member of the Santa Rosa Historical Society. Louise is survived by her son, John Niolon Robinson and his wife, Judith; her grandsons, Daryl John and Jeffrey Michael Robinson; her granddaughter, Emily Louise Robinson; her stepson, James Blakeney and his wife, Julia; and stepdaughter, Darlene Duffie; grandchildren, Mark Blakeney and his wife, Antonia; Adam Blakeney; and Megan Blakeney; James Duffie; Charles Duffie and his wife, Joy-Anna; and Kathleen DeMond; great grandchildren, Charles, Leslie, and Brian Duffie; Sarah DeMond; and Alexander and Abigail Blakeney; and Zachary Blakeney. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Mary Kay Bryan; her husband of eighteen years, Niolon (Buddy) Ezra Robinson; and her husband of 37 years, Hulon (Blake) Ruport Blakeney. Mom always put family first. Her love and compassion will be greatly missed. She taught us all about life, love, and family by example. She was loved by all that knew her and was a true southern lady. Funeral service will be held at 2PM on Friday September 9, 2011 at Lewis Funeral Home Milton Chapel with Pastor J.W. Hunsucker officiating. Visitation will begin at 1PM one hour prior to funeral service. Graveside service will be held September 10, 2011 at 2PM in Enterprise Cemetery, Enterprise, Mississippi.
