Lucile Jeter Carlile, age 96, of Jay, Florida, joined her Lord and Savior on April 14, 2020. Mrs. Carlile was born on November 9, 1923, in Chapman, Alabama. She was a member of Jay First Baptist Church where she deeply loved her Church Family, along with being completely devoted to working at the Church Clothes Closet; and was a faithful member of the Jolly Jays Senior Adult Ministry. She was a seamstress at Atmore Vanity Fair Mills for many years. She loved sharing her kindness with others through her cooking, sewing, and volunteer work at Jay Hospital and Jay Elementary School. She was preceded in death by her parents, Esmon and Mettie Jeter; husband, John T. Carlile; sister, Bobbie Jeter; brothers, Mayo Jeter, Rudolph Jeter and Charlie Jeter; grandson, Brandon Haveard; great-great granddaughter, Aubree Clark; and special friends, Sarah Bryan and Mattie Harrison. Lucile is survived by her daughter, Johnnie Carol (Bill) Bryan of Jay, Florida; her grandchildren, Brittany (Joshua) Holloway, Brian Haveard and Bradley (Kasey) Haveard of Jay, Florida, Tim (Jennifer) Bryan of Jackson, Mississippi and Russ (Brooke) Bryan of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; her great-grandchildren, Allison (Justin), Ashlyn, Lane, Payton, Bayleigh, Jayce, Jackson, Rayleigh, Sawyer, Jameson, John Alan, Neal, Morgan, Colbie, Kylie, and Conner; great-great granddaughter, Anslee; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and special friends; and her dog, Duke. A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Level, Alabama, with Rev. Dr. George L. Fredericks, Jr. and Minister Joshua Holloway officiating. Lewis Funeral Home of Milton has been entrusted with the arrangements. A “Celebration of Life” Service will be held at a later date.
