Lucille McCurdy

Lucille Elizabeth "Lucy" McCurdy was born November 20, 1957 in Donsawla, Florida, to James and Betty Evans. Lucy passed away after a brief illness on Friday, December 5, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Brian McCurdy. Lieutenant Lucy McCurdy joined the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office on August 17, 1984. During her tenure, she was promoted to Corporal in December of 1998. She was promoted to Sergeant in August of 1999 and to Lieutenant in November 2, 2002. During the course of her career, she worked throughout the entire County to include Navarre, Gulf Breeze and Jay. She also spent several years as the Officer in Command of our Court Security Division. Lt. McCurdy was involved in the Sheriff’s Crisis Response Team, Hostage Negotiations and was a Detective in the Major Crimes Division. Lt. McCurdy served the Citizens of Santa Rosa County for almost 30 years. She retired on April 18, 2014. She was an asset to the Sheriff’s Office, as well as to the community. Her loyalty and dedication to the Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office will not be forgotten. A Memorial Service will be held at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Lewis Funeral Home, Milton Chapel, with honors by the Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Department.
