Lucy Forbush Milton, Florida Obituary

Lucy Forbush

Reedville- Lucy M. Forbush, age 95, better known to her friends and family as Phyllis, Phyl or Philly, died July 25, 2015, of natural causes. She was born July 12, 1920, in Irvington, VA. She graduated White Stone High School in June 1938 and on December 30, 1939, she married Leslie Forbush who preceded her in death in February 1991. Other than during World War II, where she and Leslie worked at a defense plant in Baltimore, Phyllis lived in Reedville and Lilian most of her adult life and during her more than 52 years of marriage to Leslie. For the past eight years, she resided near Pensacola, Florida, to be near her son, Wayne, and his wife, Sandy. Phyllis was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a dear friend to many. She enjoyed having fun, all board games and any type of card game. She had a strong passion for playing Bridge and especially enjoyed her many Bridge friends. She loved the Lord and spent much of her time praying both for herself, her family and her friends. Phyllis was always active and “on the go”, usually initiating things to do and places to go with her many friends. She had the appearance and energy level of someone far younger than her age. Phyllis is survived by her son, Wayne Forbush (Sandy), two grandchildren, Todd Forbush (Hillary) and Nikki Forbush, along with two great-grandchildren, Taylor and Ali; and a niece, Ruth Payne (Gordon) and nephew, Jim Haynie (Debbie). Also, she loved her step-granddaughter, Shelley Holzworth (Chris) and two step-great grandchildren, Christopher and Grayson. Phyllis’ cremains will be interred at Roseland Cemetery, Reedville, VA, alongside Leslie. A celebration of her life is tentatively planned for late October 2015.
